Cleveland County Jail Roster
The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office is led by Sheriff Alan Norman and provides detention services, law-enforcement services, and communications services. The detention division has two facilities in Shelby. The official detention page says both facilities are staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and the division includes full-time detention officers and supervisory staff.

Inmate Profile Fields
The observed P2C grid includes a compact public inventory. A result can show the person's name in a format that embeds race, sex, and age, followed by primary charge, arrest date, and booking agency. The research also found an internal row-selection field used by the P2C system, but that is not a public fact about custody.

A primary charge in the jail roster is not the same as a final conviction. The same arrest can produce amended, reduced, dismissed, or added charges in court. For court disposition, search the criminal case and contact the Clerk of Superior Court when a certified or full file is needed.

The Sheriff's detention page lists two facilities. It does not publish bed capacity for either facility in the official pages inspected, so capacity should not be guessed. Confirm where a person is housed before traveling. The roster may show custody, but detention staff can confirm visiting status, mail handling, account questions, and any lockdown or schedule changes that are not posted in the roster grid.
Cleveland County Visitation Schedule
The official visitation schedule is short and specific. It applies to both the 100 Justice Place and 407 McBrayer Street facilities. The schedule is split by the inmate's last name. The official pages inspected did not publish a full dress code, visitor ID list, holiday rule, child visitor rule, video visitation vendor, or attorney-visit rule.

Call before travel to confirm eligibility, ID requirements, dress code, holiday changes, or lockdown changes. Attorney and professional visits were not described in the inspected public pages, so attorneys should contact the Detention Center or use the court contact directory rather than relying on the public Wednesday and Friday split.
Mail for Cleveland County Inmates
The Sheriff's inmate mailing page gives a specific correspondence address for a person currently in the Cleveland County Detention Center. Letters, pictures, and other correspondence should be addressed to the inmate's full name at 100 Justice Place, Shelby, NC 28151. The research did not capture a detailed list of banned mail items beyond the money-order warning below.

The app is not for emergencies; call 911 for emergencies.

State Custody and Notifications
The county jail roster covers Cleveland County custody. Once a person leaves county pretrial custody for state prison, probation, or parole, search the NC DAC offender public information search. That state system is separate from the county jail and from the court case file.
North Carolina VINELink is a separate custody-status notification service. It can help victims and other users monitor custody changes, but it is not a court-record system and it does not replace the Sheriff's P2C jail roster. Sex-offender registry searches are also separate from inmate records; the Sheriff's app and website point to the NC SBI Sex Offender Registry for that purpose.
